Today, December 21st is Blackout Day here on Tumblr! As apart of this, Vogue is Viral is dedicating this day to all those beautiful models of colour. Within the fashion industry, models of colour are seldom or even not used within fashion shows, campaigns, and editorials. There is such deeply imbedded racism within the industry that needs to change, and by promoting and sharing models of colour, we can shed light on those models and share their beauty! Be sure to like and reblog, using the tag #blackout!

iridescent
(irəˈdes(ə)nt), adjective | In our list of most beautiful words in the English language, iridescent is the most mystically colorful in the spectrum of vocabulary. Iridescence describes the change of color at different angles. Most importantly, it focuses on the luminosity projected by each color. Its beauty is also found in its sound; just say the word. Uttering the word evokes enough beauty, but defining the word establishes an ethereal quality of color found in nature, such as that of a rainbow, seashells or soap bubbles.

Well, I don’t know. Some things in life, like the color of a house, don’t really matter. But lifting someone’s heart? Now, that matters.
The Secret Life of Bees (2008), Dir. Gina Prince-Bythewood
To live content with small means. To seek elegance rather than luxury, and refinement rather than fashion. To be worthy not respectable, and wealthy not rich. To listen to stars and birds and babes and sages with an open heart. To study hard, think quietly, act frankly, talk gently, await occasions. Never hurry. In a word, to let the spiritual, the unbidden and the unconscious rise up through the common. This is my symphony.
